Jewellery made during the years of 1714-1830 is usually refered to as georgian antique jewellery. This was a period of time when the british empire was ruled by 4 different king georges. This period spanned 2 centuries. All jewellery from this time would have been hand made. The theme was normally to do with nature (flowers,plants etc.) , birds and insects and has become extremly popular amongst collectors of vintage antique jewellery across the world. Queen victoria was coronated in 1837 and so began a fantastic era for jewellery. Queen victorian was a huge fan of jewellery and influenced many designs of the time. Also during the art nouveau peroid england was also experincing the delight of edwardian jewellery. After the death of queen victoria her son edward came to the throne and with him his queen, Alexandra. She was a queen that became not only a trendsetter but influenced england with lace and silks and more importantly diamonds.
