Rare Antique Georgian Silhouette Slide Jewellery

 
Rare antique Georgian jewellery, carved horn and silver slide depicting a cut out silhouette of a gentleman.  This could be a mourning piece, most likely constructed to attach to a multistrand bracelet or choker style necklace.
The silver and horn casing is punctuated with tiny silver nails, each meticulously hammered into the reverse of the piece. 
The silhouette rests upon what appears to be silk cloth: it is very finely detailed and moves freely under its glass cover.  Measuring 40mms x 35mms and in very good condition.
